Minister of Labour Announces Working for Workers Act

Today, Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development, and MPP Deepak Anand, his Parliamentary Assistant, announced that the government is introducing Working for Workers Act that, if passed, would better protect, support, and attract workers to the province.

These proposed new measures position Ontario as a first mover in charting the path forward as the way we work changes. The proposed changes would promote employees “disconnecting from work” and spending quality time with their loved ones, as well as promote competitiveness by banning unfair non-compete agreements in employment that are used to restrict work opportunities and suppress salary increases.
