Seniors’ Month is an opportunity to recognize and honour the knowledge, experience and the contributions that seniors have made to build the province that we enjoy today – and that they continue to make every day in communities across Ontario. Our government is committed to protecting what matters most to seniors and their families.
This year, as seniors continue to self-isolate, we are focusing on keeping them connected and engaged at home. Seniors can stay connected to the community using virtual options offered by their local Senior Active Living Centre operators or by exploring volunteer opportunities from home.
More than 175 Senior Active Living Centres programs have reported offering remote programming such as teleconferencing, online video, and one-on-one phone calls to help seniors stay connected from home.
