Government highlighted the action being taking to make sure everyone across this province is protected in the event of flooding their communities.
Last year, at least 10 regions of Ontario declared states of emergency due to flooding. Communities across the province have been preparing for this year’s flooding season. The Ontario government is actively working with federal and municipal governments, non-governmental organizations and First Nation partners to ensure the province is prepared to meet the challenge of flooding season during the COVID-19 outbreak, including the development of evacuation plans in high-risk regions.
