Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant Application is Now Open

The government announced an investment of $25.5 million over two years through the new Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant to address the rise of hate incidents against faith, cultural, Indigenous and other communities at-risk, and ensure their spaces remain safe and secure. Applications are now open and close on September 12 at 11:59 p.m.

Faith-based organizations, like churches, mosques or synagogues, and cultural organizations, like those that serve Black, Indigenous, Asian or 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, may be eligible to receive a one-time grant of up to $10,000 to help prevent and/or respond to hate motivated incidents. Grant funding can be used to cover eligible safety and security measures implemented between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. This includes building upgrades, enhancing locks, installing cameras, training staff, completing security assessments, introducing safer cybersecurity measures, hiring short-term professional security personnel and making repairs.
